Difference Among Schools Within the Same Tier

There is a huge difference between the top of Tier 1 and the bottom of Tier 1.  Harvard vs. SMU or Columbia vs. University of Alabama. 

There is very little difference, if any at all, between the top of Tier 2 vs. bottom of Tier 2.  Florida State University vs. University of South Carolina or University of Kentucky vs. University of Arkansas.

You may well be right, but I seriously agree with him. I find it very hard to believe there's any real major difference in the quality of education you'll receive at Arkansas v. Florida v. Florida State v. Kentucky v. Louisiana State v. Ole Miss v. South Carolina (sans the whole dilapidated building thing) v. Tennessee (said it before and I'll say it again, ant-Southern bias holds these schools down). The big difference is in which market you want to self-select to stay in after graduation.
