When I was 14, my right eye was "damaged" in a soccer accident.  I had to wear a patch for a while.  Nerdy kid in high school wearing a patch... yeah.  Oh, and also, I fenced.  So there was that too.

So, I just kinda tried to use some judo and run with the taunts instead of getting butthurt by them.

I think this is like comparing apples to oranges.
I know some very bright law students who are terrified of numbers and hate math with a passion. I also know bright scientists and engineers who cannot write, have bad grammar and spelling.

I think this is a really interesting thread! I am a practising corporate attorney and I often hear business people boasting that they are advised by the "smartest lawyers", which I take it to mean that at least some clients believe that their lawyers are smarter than them. If you asked me, I would say only three things on this topic: (i) there are plenty of smart (i.e. very intelligent and bright) people in all professions and paths of life, (ii) there is little correlation between being extremely smart and making lots of money and (iii) the younger generations tend to be smarter than the older generations (I am often impressed by how bright some of the trainees/junior attorney at my firm are).
