well...my gpa wasn't as high as yours and my lsat was jus tok but I got into some t10s.  I think it's very much about more than hard data.

also...you must realize that during tough economic times, it's that much harder to get into the top schools since every applies to law school during a recession.  even the dean of admissions at my school mentioned the great applicants and having the turn them away.  it's just harder.

Did you call yourself "tight" in any of your application essays? If so that might have been an issue.

Also, I think there is some data out there tending to show a correlation between LSAT scores and law school success, but I'm sure there's also data showing otherwise. Point being, it certainly hasn't been "proven" that the LSAT is not indicative of law school success.
