Wait... tell me again how a scholarship based on dedicating your life to little recognition and no pay is the same as an admissions boost based on race?
Well I suppose that one might argue that like race-based AA programs, they're intended at least in part to add diversity to the student body (though in this instance diversity of intended career paths) and to thereby enrich the academic experience for all.
That's a fine answer (really, I'm not being facetious). But LawDog seems to be saying that they're equivalent based not on their ultimate benefit to the student body as a whole, but on their benefit to individual students.
