To emphasize your point further, I've heard that biglaw is more like only 10-15% of all lawyers.

GWU will recover. These rankings are just musical chairs, and we are the only ones who care about them, besides the schools and some employers. And for those who don't know, IUB has been ranked that high before, I just didn't expect it to jump out of nowhere back into the top-25.

I'd say that even saying some employers care about them is an exaggeration.  I think employers care about where you went to school, but I don't think they look at the USNWR religiously to determine what they think about schools.

I've had an attorney recruiter pull up the rankings while I was in the room.

I give up on life.  Are you kidding me? Really? Really?! REALLY!!! There is no reason to live anymore. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in the past few months. REALLY?! Goddamn man, I am judging you.

I'll take that bet any day.  Emory's numbers are around the same as GW's. If GW dropped, so too would Emory.

Most importantly, IU would not ever be 23 in any realm of the world.

thedudeman where you at?

Maybe he had a stroke when the rankings got published? He seems a little high strung when it comes to rankings seeing as how that usually what he bases his bashing of other posters on.

I wonder where he is too, esp. after all the snarky pm's he sent me about "what a moron I am" if I think iu-b could ever pass GW...

I still think you are a moron.  I don't see many IU students working Biglaw at V100 firms.... Last I check, 43% of GW grads end up in Biglaw (including me).

I'm not fretting the rankings and to have GW drop 8 spots even though our stats went up this year just shows how silly they really are.

Enjoy your TTT next fall big guy.

Not very gracious there.
Oh yea...you're delicious and lean, but unsustainable and not to be consumed daily.

Maybe he is busy filling out his transfer app to Bloomington?

No, I doubt it, he made it painfully clear that he already has a fancy BIGLAW! job and that GW is the best law school in the university.

Best law school in "the university?"  Not quite, but definitely better than IU.  I'm happy with where I went to law school. I'm sure there are some that go to GW that aren't happy.  That's life.  Though I'm just about certain that GW places more students in Biglaw and this rankings snapfu won't change that.

Why be gracious after being prodded? I see no need for grace here.

There's never a need for grace.  It's just something you do or you don't do.

The picture of maturity. Being prodded, really? You pm'd me, you started insulting people. I just said the leaked rankings were true.

I'm not going to bicker with you.  It's silly.  Things will be what they are.  As BL said before, the change will have absolutely zero effect on my life.
