If you havent already checked, look into NYU's dorms.  They are approximately 1600 a month.  Seems like a lot of the summers go that route.

1600 for NYU dorms is absolutely insane. If you're willing to forgo the convenience of going through NYU, or are willing to live with roomates, you can find a much bigger and better place for much less (my current lease is a 12x15 BR in a 1100 sqft 3BR apartment in a doorman building on 22nd and broadway for 1450. NYU dorms are glorified closets).

Unfortunately I don't have anything to offer, but as someone who's lived in New York for a while now, if you have 2 or 3 days to kill looking for places you can do much better than the NYU dorms.

Anyone coming to Philly this summer?     

I'm looking to sublet my Center City studio apartment. It's in a big apartment building with a 24 hour security desk, gym etc. Great location a few blocks from Rittenhouse square, 2 min walk from nearest subway, Trader Joes etc.
