Chances at SMU/Houston/Tulane

My top 3 in that order

3.66 (3.8 Degree) 159 LSAT (Texas Resident) and Non-URM

I applied FT and PT at SMU, FT at UH, and FT at Tulane.

I'd appreciate your input

SMU - Probably good

Tulane - Probably good

I'd have to disagree with the above posters.

Assuming your a fairly ordinary applicant, I project a rejection at Houston.

Of the three, I believe your chances at Tulane are best.

I don't think you're a lock for any of them, but you might get lucky.  Apply to safeties.

SMU FT -- reject (their median LSAT is like a 164 now)
SMU PT -- accept
Houston -- accept
Tulane -- accept

I've seen people with lower numbers getting into SMU FT, but they may be URM. I don't know. I would think that it might be difficult, but you still have a shot.

How long ago did you send in the applications? I also applied to Houston(pt) and SMU with similar numbers. I'm not a Texas resident (not sure if that is a disadvantage. I applied in February though, hope that doesn't hurt my chances.

I applied in mid/late october...got "held for further review" at SMU, and then my status said "Hold" at U of H so I told them to just hold my application anyways until I took the February LSAT and then I got a higher score and am waiting to hear back from them.

Not being a TX resident is a disadvantage at Houston, because it is a public school. I'm pretty sure the 65% rule applies to all of them, but I only have first-hand knowledge of UT. That rule means that 65% of admitted students must be TX residents. I don't think residency has much effect at SMU.
