Cereal is pretty expensive, especially if you're using milk. I'd go with rice and beans.

I'm only a 1L and already switching to cereal and tap water diet out of paranoia.  Am I ahead of the curve?

No, because this means you aren't taking advantage of the free lunches that you can find most days of the week somewhere on campus.  You need to join more groups/clubs.

You don't even have to join the club - that takes too much time. Just show up for the meetings and pretend to take a strategically timed bathroom break after you finished your food.
