No one was going to get in any ways. Transfer admission to the T14 is just an urban legend and a cruel practical joke.

+1. GULC actually emailed all of the transfers that came in last year and informed them that they had been "punk'd" and  wouldn't be receiving credit for the classes that they'd taken because they were never really admitted. They also won't be refunding the $42k in tuition because, well, that just makes the joke even better. Ashton Kutcher would be proud. Everyone had a good laugh and the transfers were then promptly escorted off school grounds by security.

I actually do have a good feeling about tonight, especially after all the activity earlier this week and the "technical error" on Friday.

Or maybe I am just clinging to something that allows me to escape the horrors of studying for property.

Edit: Sorry, I was looking at the right dates in the wrong years, I see it is normally monday.

Moreover, I heard a rumor that starting this year the offers of admission are non-binding on both parties, ie they are contingent on an equally strong or stronger performance this semester, thus even if you are admitted now if your grades slip at all the offer will be rescinded. I know other schools have switched to this, WUSTL for example admitted students that did not maintain their 2nd semester a couple of years ago, so to keep this problem from happening again they changed their policy. Has anyone else heard this or have any info about the offers that came directly from GULC, i already have heard enough rumors and do not wish to hear about unfounded theories people have on the matter?

Edit: here is the link to WUSTL's info, which is close to what GLC is rumored to be adopting:

hey I have gone through past discussions a few times, and while one or two have reported friday being a time they went decision, it has always been the turn to midnight on monday in the past three years where the majority is turned to decision - I don't know where you're getting friday...

Here are the results from my research, which I posted on April 13th to this board:

I went through the history of this thread - back to 2006, and found when the first mention of a "decision" was made.  Here's the table:

2006
Easter was, Sunday April 16th
First Decision - Monday April 17th

2007
Easter was Sunday, April 8th
First Decision - Monday April 2nd

2008
Easter was Sunday, March 23
First Decision - Monday April 7th

2009 - Prediction
Easter is April 12th
Decision - Monday, April 20th

They have never gone later than the third week of april!  Tonight could be the night!

I must have been looking at the wrong years, I am not really sure but I now see the light.

But still, has anyone heard about the offers being contingent this year on 2nd semester grades?

Yeah, the Friday switchers were outliers in past years (and actually heard bad news).

And there's nothing even implicit out there about GULC revoking EA admittance if you get straight Bs or something.  No way they're doing that, at least not this year.  If you fail a course, there's no question they can withdraw the offer.  But as long as you come in with 28-32 credits (if that's correct), they won't pull a UChi and revoke on the basis of "inconsistent" grades.

I agree with Dongo - if they were going to do that it seems like they would have done what Chicago and WUSTL did and actually post it on their application (and webpage) so people know going into the process that it's a condition which they'll have to satisfy.  Couldn't imagine them just throwing that on people without telling them about it first...
