Will it win Best Picture?  Surely not.
The main partner in their Entertainment Law group went to CLS, but he was Fiske and on LR, so be careful.  You don't want to set yourself goals that are too high.

I haven't see it. But it does look like it's on a roll. I wouldn't be surprised if it wins Best Picture.

I didn't think Slumdog was that great.  I'll be a little upset if it wins Best Pic.  A little.

What would get your vote?

Out of the 5 nominated?  Probably Frost/Nixon.  My favorite movie of the year was Wall E though.  It was really the only classic of 2008 that I saw.

Haha. I didn't see Frost/Nixon (or many of the other Oscar movies), but I did love the Dark Knight. And Wall-E (although I felt like it really kind of fell apart in the last third. Still excellent, though).

However, I really do think Slumdog is going to win it. They are cleaning UP so far.

My pick was Button.  I doubt that will in.  I just think Slumdog is an odd Best Picture winner.

oh yeah, where's your tar from?

Mine?

Labyrinth.

I haven't seen The Reader, so I'm sort of this pulling this out of my bum, I guess, but Kate Winslet's win seems like kind of a Training Day situation. Honoring the person's entire body of work and the fact that it really seems like they ought to have won by now rather than this particular performance being all that special.

I agree.  Overall I'm disappointed with 2008.  Waiting for Inglorious Basterds.
