Also, important to point out that NLJ 250 = size only.  There are firms at the bottom of the NLJ 250 that do not pay market and more (I don't know how many more) than 400 firms not in the NLJ 250 that do pay market.  The East Coast firm growth model was very size oriented and much of the NLJ 250 is filled with East Coast firms.

Further, remember that the NLJ 250 placement numbers consider the entire graduating class, not just those who went into private practice job.  A prestigious clerkship or government job lowers the NLJ 250 placement the same amount as a Starbucks JD.

All good points.

Note also that Yale is not in the top 20 due to clerkships, and Harvard looks worse than it actually is.

Pretty much jives with what I would expect.  They should come up with a way of accounting for 'placement for where students attempt to go' or something to that nature.  Obviously, this only accounts for NLJ250 firms (should probably be 100 if we're really talking biglaw), and doesn't account for placement at clerkships/PI jobs/academia.

It would be nice if they came up with a comprehensive ranking by placement into 'top jobs', however that may be defined.

My school is number two.  But what they don't tell you is how many people went to Cravath, the best firm in the world.

I already knew we'd be number one before the article even loaded on my screen.   ;D

Sigh.  What a reputation we have here at CLS...

I can't believe I'm going to ask this, considering I'm not even a 1L yet (read: anything can happen grade-wise).  But, how many transfers does CLS take a year (if you know)?  Are transfers able to write onto law review?  I assume I would have to be top 5-10% at a lower T14 to even have a shot, but there are professional and personal reasons that make me really want to be at CLS.
