As have I. I've been looking at places to live in Albany. Some of them look a little scary! :-\

Visited Albany last week, prior to the open house, and got to see the school and town. There are certainly areas that you are going to want to avoid - South End being one. But there are more good areas than bad. Row houses along State St. and around Washington Park and the state capital building are really nice. Pine Hills and the area around the med center and St. Rose are nice too. Lots of rentals within walking distance of the school.

Thanks for the tip. I should have added that, when I said I had been looking at palces in Albany, I meant looking at them through Google Streetview. I'm sure there are plenty of nice areas, as you say. But it's good to know where to avoid. I'll be going down there for a day or two next month to take a look.
