Where did you get help for your personal statement?

I've been working on my personal statement for quite some time (over a year) and I have not been satisfied with my finished product. I've asked numerous family members and friends to look it over and they've liked my various drafts so now I'm trying to find some input from someone outside my circle. I've noticed that people volunteer to read each other’s statements but how do you ensure someone won't simply plagiarize your work?

You have to be trusting. Although you can also ask specific 1L's, sometimes they really don't want to work on school stuff, plus they like helping.

I used the Nortwest essay editing service. It's like $15 bucks for a fairly comprehensive review. They're listed in the resources section (see the link on the left.

I had mine looked at by a wide swath of people.  I asked people whose opinions I trusted from LSD, friends who aren't involved in the legal world, and friends who are practicing attorneys.  I really wanted to see how it was viewed by people in different areas because I wanted to see if I was doing a good job at not just expressing my interest in the law, but also doing a good job in allowing the essence of me to shine through.

I used ivyessay.com...its only 75 and you get in 3 days or 92.5 and you get in one day ...I think you should have professional over it over it terms of grammer/style

IMO you should never pay money to for an essay service.  Just write it and get someone you trust (who is relatively decent at editing) to proofread.

Thank you for all of the recommendations. I decided to scrap my old PS and go in a new direction. Hopefully one of these days I'll write something I feel worthy of submitting.
