Would you call?
« on: February 10, 2009, 02:37:45 PM »
My status check just changed from "in review" to "decision made and will arrive by mail".  The fact that this happened within a matter of 3 hours leads me to think I may be auto-admit or auto-denial...  Which leads me to stress out.

This school is def one of my top choices and I am going nuts already.

Question:  Would you call the school to find out the decision, or wait it out?

Don't call, and chances are they wouldn't tell you if you did

My first instinct was not to call, but since then I've had a friend who is also applying telling me to "Call! Call!"

So I thought I'd get more opinions.

Obtain smarter friends.

Seriously.

Don't call, and chances are they wouldn't tell you if you did

This is the credited response. You'll get your decision in a couple of days. We're not dependent on the Pony Express here.

I would suggest that you refrain from calling at this point.  The call will not improve your chances at this point so it has the potential to do more harm than good.  I know it is difficult but try and wait for a while.  If you still haven't heard anything after a long period of time (which probably won't occur), then you can contact them as politely as possible to see if they "require any additional information."  Good luck!
