I sometimes wonder if Cooley just bought up a few million comicbooks and old paperbacks to increase their library size.

Of course, they could never measure up to GULC's TWO (Count-em) libraries.

giant library is a fair standard of evaluation so long as it's only one out of many.

Criteria that the Cooley Rankings use which are not reasonable standards include:

JD enrollment (how does this in any way dictate the quality of the school?)
Total minority enrollment (the total number is irrelevant as it is yet another boost of schools with large class sizes... Cooley already indluced sepearately percentage of minority students)
Total applications
Full time faculty
Part time faculty
Total faculty (for all of the above 3, they also have student/faculty ratio and average first year section size)
Number of minority faculty (how about percentage of minority faculty if this is important?)
Number of professional librarians
Library seating capacity (how about a ratio comparing the seating capacity and the enrollment total if such a thing is important?)
Number of computers networked (again, a ratio?)
Non-library total square footage (um, what?  maybe a ratio here if this sort of thing is deemed imporant)

From the website "Note that each of these factors can affect the overall ranking of any school by only slightly over 3%."

so yeah, note that the number of enrolled students seems to be weighed as heavily as things like percent of graduates employed, median LSAT, median UGPA, etc.

this is the real reason for cooley's success:

Chuck Norris took a Feb. LSAT. When LSAC realized this, it was disclosed.

Chuck Norris did not write the certifying statement. He simply wrote, "Roundhouse kick". When an LSAC employee read this, her neck was mysteriously snapped. Because other LSAC employees feared touching his test, Chuck Norris received the only 181 in history. He went to Thomas Cooley and killed everyone on campus. He then renamed it, "Chuck Norris Law". There is only one class, "Chuck Norris Law". The answer to everything is "Because Chuck Norris said so." The only student who ever left Chuck Norris Law alive is Chuck Norris. Despite this fact, it is the most popular law school in the world.

Looking at this, Cooley bumped themselves up 4 spots(i think). They obviously don't want to ever come across as weakening in their own rankings, so do you think they will keep rising until they are number one?
