Sent applications 12/17...still hope for scholarships or too late?

I sent my applications out last week and am applying to mostly tier 2 schools. A few tier 1s but I know they'll be reaches. Someone previously posted that if you waited until late December to apply that the schools may have already used up their scholarship money. Does anybody have any information about that? I'm screwed if I don't get scholarships...so is late December too late to hope for a lot of $$$?
