Maybe some of you guys who go to Vandy can help me figure something out...

As I was applying to law schools, I was a bit optimistic about scholarships (on LSN, looking at the high scholarship amounts without paying a lot of attention to low amounts for similar numbers, etc.)  While my numbers earned $90,000 last year fairly consistently, there was still quite a bit of variation (some $30k, some $60k).  Is there any explanation for why there would be such a large scholarship variation for very similar numbers?

It isn't a strict numbers game.  Just like there is a lot of variation in where people get accepted, there is a lot of variation in scholarship amounts.  With that said, I think you can expect 90k+.

I really hope so.  I have a number in my head, and if Vandy meets or exceeds that number, my cycle is over.  I am completely sold on Vandy after multiple visits and discussions with various students... now it is just a question of will they give me the amount I need.

As long as VULS students are crawling all over this thread, I might as well add my two cents.  I was way unsure about coming to Vandy, because I pictured it as all southern frat boys and debutantes, but it's pleasantly surprised me, and I couldn't be happier here!

I wonder if I'll get any reading done before Barrister's tonight...

And was everyone well-behaved at Barristers or Mardi Gras this weekend?? I heard the Ball was more tame than last year, though because I haven't been either year this is all hearsay.  I do have a great idea for where VBA could have it next year::

Barrister's is prom with an open bar - it was amazing.
