I'm fairly sure I read it in class in 5th grade.  I'm pretty sure I liked it.

And PJC, I'll lend you my copy of Gone With the Wind.  That's probably the longest book I've ever read

And read it more than 20 times, starting in 5th grade.  I've gotten dumber/a smaller attention span since then.

I think it says something for our educational system where it wouldn't surprise me that a college-educated person hasn't read many (if any) long books.  I mean, remember that failblog article I sent you ;)

But seriously, you'd be shocked at the number of people in college here who say they don't read as a general rule, anything more in depth than possibly a short reading assignment or magazines.
