Morningside Heights is actually pretty nice. The nightlife sucks, and there's not a lot of clothes shopping, but the convenience/colleg-ey atmosphere can be very nice.

Nothing special?

There's Columbia, for starters.  Riverside Park.  The fact that Law and Order films there.  But really, maybe I'm backwards but I enjoyed Morningside Heights more than the Village when I visited.
