I haven't used a speak and spell myself, but I've heard good things from people I know that go there.

I am an undergrad at Cornell, and almost everyone here uses a mac. I also had the opportunity to sit in on a IP class at the law school and remember my mentor was using a mac, so it should not be a problem.

EDIT: That's yes I use a mac ... and no, no problems.
