What is the standard for success for the first year of the Obama Administration?

What would he have to get accomplished in order for his first year to be considered successful?

I'm going to say as long as the country doesn't implode thanks to the leftovers from the Bush admin. (these things take a while to work their way out), I'll consider it successful.

I know Julie is kidding, but she's right.  The presidency of Obama cannot possibly be successful unless he completely switches his opinions on almost every issue.  Sad but true.

Yeah dude. I mean, the country sure seems sucky after 8 years of Bush (6 years of which had a GOP Congress) but Bush is NOTHING compared to the Islamofacist-socialist-homosexual-babykiller agenda. I mean nothing. You think its bad now? ITS GOOD NOW. This is the best scenario we could have achieved. Now terrorist-sponsored universal healthcare is going to mandate abortions for all.

I don't think it's a matter of accomplishments in particular but rather a display of competence and thought in dealing with matters.

...keeping gates was wise choice.
...keeping hiliary out of the senate and wearing her out as sec of state...brilliant...

...aye think we need to see how obama handles afghanistan/pakistan/india and african conflicts...he needs a vigorous agenda with concentration on domestic infrastructure{that is why he was elected}...the balancing act will be interesting to watch...how many of his ideas which are pushed through by the "blue dogs" is the question.

business democrats and progressive republicans {in other words...realists} will be the key to the next four years...sorry ad-libs...
