Is dean's letter a sign?

A few days ago, I received a package from Stanford Law with a bunch of informational materials, as well as a letter from the dean of admissions inviting me to apply. However, my GPA and LSAT (3.57/163) are below Stanford's range. Should I take the letter seriously or is it really just a generic mailing?

I got the same and have similar numbers, but given the timing (relatively late for application invitation type mailings), I suspect that it is just a tool to boost 1) minority application numbers and 2) application numbers in general.  I'm guessing that you got the letter from their BLSA with the sample PS/resumes?  I got the same exact thing last year, too, around the same time.  However, don't let any of the above discourage you from applying.

Oh, so I'm guessing you weren't admitted then? Where are you now?

I didn't apply last cycle, so I wasn't admitted or denied.  If I wasn't clear, I got the same exact mailing (or extremely similar) two years in a row around the same time.
