Stupid question about LSAC GPA
« on: November 24, 2008, 10:47:07 PM »
So, is this GPA used by law schools or do they mainly just look at the GPA that comes on your transcript from your undergrad? The reason why I ask is because I converted my GPA into an LSAC GPA and it was a bit higher. So I'm just wondering which one will actually be taken into consideration.

They look at your LSAC GPA.  Congrats!

LSAC GPA is looked at almost exclusively

Wait, it's possible to get a GPA over a 4.0 if you have A+'s? Isn't that unfair to those of us who went to schools that didn't offer A+s?

Yes, you can get over a 4.0, and yes it is unfair to people like me.  That's life  :)

So, in essence, the fact that my GPA is higher under the LSAC conversion means nothing because of this. Damn. . . . .

No... it's good.  The fact that your GPA is higher under the LSAC conversion works in your favor.

How do I figure out what my GPA will be converted to?

Do I count my community college grades or just upper level, how does that all work?

All grades that count towards your bachelors degree (ie, everything you have taken before you graduated) will be counted
