yes, it still early.  however, if nothing else:  reduction of pointless belligerence toward cuba and disclosure of torture not bad start.

well, low-hanging in that only need take fairly simple executive action. however, both of these getting him some criticism (as well as praise).

congressoional action in next couple months going say lot.  julie ok with pragmatic compromise, and like how obama not seem be scared republicans on national security issues (such as his recent response to response chavez handshake).  how refreshing!

They're a mess right now, so he doesn't have to worry about them too much.  It'll be interesting to see how he handles them when/if they get their act together.
