I just played it safe and did Times New Roman for all the PSs.  I think they're primarily interested in the text anyways.  I did however use Garamond for my resume, because document layout/design can certainly make a resume look more professional/attractive (MOST of the time).  My two cents...

Apart from one or two schools that specifically ask for Times New Roman, I'm using Georgia for my personal statement.  Is this okay?

Only if the adcoms don't have relatives in Abkhazia or South Ossetia......or Gainesville
