Sidley v. Kirkland

Wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the differences between the two. If I'm intent on staying in Chicago, and not interested in litigation, which firm is 'better' reputationally and which (if either) has an edge on quality of life?  Also, if I have thoughts of possibly leaving law for an I-bank/PE/etc. when America gets some sort of economy back, would either have an advantage in terms of exit options?  Thanks for the advice.

Kirkland has a much better reputation than Sidley in terms of litigation. If you want to leave for an I-bank why are you going to be a litigator?

Thanks for the response.  Actually, I'm NOT interested in being a litigator (I said it that way because that is about as narrow as my focus can be at the moment).  Anybody have a thought?

Yes, it's my dream.  I don't know what your dream is, but it obviously isn't picking between these two.  And my dream dream would be to work at Wachtell.

I think I would genuinely enjoy some of their litigation work.  They get a lot of high stakes bet the company type things that might be thrilling.  Of course, Cravath is more notable for litigation, but they don't pay the same.
