my stats, my chances!
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:01:37 PM »
So this is the scenario: 173, 3.3 GPA, Ivy league school. With these numbers alone, what are one's chances at:

Columbia
NYU
UPenn
UVA
Georgetown
Harvard

Thanks all

I'm assuming you're able to do the research on GPA/LSAT ranges.  That information is plastered all over the place.  www.lawschoolnumbers.com can also provide you with a great resource for this information.

I'm going to assume you know all of those things and are trying to determine the kind of GPA boost that an Ivy League school can give you.  Most people on these boards will agree school prestige is definitely something considered by law schools, however, since we live in a US News Law School Rankings world (whether we like it or not), schools are looking to beef up their median LSATs and GPAs.  Thus, you can rely pretty solidly on those ranges to be relatively accurate of your chances of admission to those schools.  HTH.
