Let's just be realistic with our assessments here: we're all screwed.  Every last one of us.

Probably.  My 1L firm job applications will probably be, at best, a formality.

A firm that occasionally takes a remarkable student from a low-ranked school can be elite.  A firm that regularly takes 1-2 students a year from a "really bad" school can't.  Sorry.

Cleary is not elite. You kind of proved the point.

Um, what?  Outside of Wachtell, Cravath, S&C and DPW they are as selective as it gets in NYC.  If you are not top third at CCN or 20% at a lower T14 you are not getting a callback.  80% of the firm is T14, and 60% is T6.

This thread = weaksauce.

I don't know what to do with my life after that memo.  I thought about getting a beer, but I'm trying to cut back.  Maybe play foosball?  I don't know.  My floormates need to stop taking school so seriously.
