Does anyone have any useful or interesting insights/distinctions between the following firms in Los Angeles:
Latham & Watkins
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher
O'Melveny & Meyers
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom
Kirkland & Ellis
I want to work at a large firm, and am leaning towards California based firms since I think that those will better plug me into the local business scene (I'm not originally from California). General pluses and minuses are welcome, reasons for choosing one over another, etc.
