WTF?? LSAT PT Scores
« on: September 20, 2008, 02:28:41 PM »
In the LSAC SuperPrep, a raw score of 88 garnered me a 167, but an 87 got me a 171.

?????

Is this kind of discrepancy normal? That's a 4-pt difference to my benefit on a test I did worse on, strictly speaking!

Do you mean an 87 gave you the lower score by 4 pts than an 88? I don't follow your question.

Also, test scales can suck, but I'm surprised by the 4 pt difference.

The lower raw score (87) gave me a higher scaled score (171).

I was surprised too, and if that's the norm it makes scoring well look much less predictable. That's why I wondered if this is a common discrepancy--if it's not, I don't know if I should be more or less worried about the actual test...

Superprep B is ridiculously hard.  The scale is really crazy on that one.  I found Superprep C really hard too.  I got a measly 87 right, and that got me a 171.  It's a little disheartening to see my raw score at 87 after my studying, but I think that the Superprep is made intentionally difficult.

Back to studying!
