I just wanted to add my $.02 to this discussion. From what I can tell, this year sucks for job hunting. I was in the top 10% of a T14 and wrote onto LR. I went on 40 screening, got 15 callbacks, went on 8 and had 1 offer. I would not say I'm the best interviewer in the world, but I'm fairly decent/likable. I spoke to my OCS office to figure out what was wrong and she said that the reality this year is that firms are hiring a lot less people. I'm lucky that I finally got an offer from a good firm, but I was shocked at the amount of rejection I received and the firms that rejected me (firms way low on the V100). My point is that grades and prestige can only get you so far and this year, that may not be far enough.
