Diversity Statement?

I'm in the process of filling out applications now. Two schools ask your racial/ethnic background and then ask you to attach a statement on how that background is "of special relevance" to your application. What? Am I supposed to explain how being black is relevant? Would a typical diversity statement be okay here?

lol    I think you can just use your diversity statement, I'm 99.9% sure that's what they're asking for
