Taking the Test in Dec. WHATS WRONG W/THIS?

I singed up for the Oct. test but I just don't feel ready. I have a great GPA and I don't want to waste it on a 150something all for the purpose of turning-in the app on time. What do you all think about this, do the negatives outweigh the positives?

There is nothing wrong with that. However, late dec/jan is when schools start receiving a lot of apps. So make sure you have everything ready to send/apps filled out prior to getting your score.

I'm also taking the December test...not an ideal situation, but I'd feel better about prepping properly over the next 2 months and getting a good LSAT score rather than risking something mediocre or worse. Unlike the OP, by GPA isn't so hot...so I need to make up for it with a good LSAT and a strong application in general. As long as you have everything else ready by early January when the results come out, you should be fine..

i'm guessing that it doesn't reflect well if say i took in october and submitted my apps soon thereafter, with the notification on the app that i planned to re-take in december?

No it doesn't matter- since you told them you will retake in Dec, they won't look over your app until that score is in.  So essentially, as long as you do better in December, it's the same.  You'll just be in trouble if you don't to better or only do slightly better because they didn't review your app before when it was early and less people had applied.  But as long as you do better, it's essentially the same thing  good luck!
