Hooking law into PS

Is it important to link your personal statement topic to why you want to study law?  Is it better to tie it in or leave it out?

If "why law" fits into the story you want to tell, then go ahead and include it. If it doesn't, then don't, and it's no biggie!

(NB: Of course, this only applies to schools with 'open' PS prompts. Some schools want you to talk about why law. Read the application instructions for everything you apply to!)

Generally speaking, law schools don't care too much about why you want to go to law school. (I'm serious.)

It is a good idea to mention it in the PS, but your PS should be about more than that.

Make sure you mention how important it is for you to make a ton of money in the future - law schools love that.
