Duke Priority Track
« on: August 21, 2008, 04:34:33 PM »
Just got an e-mail saying I was on Duke's Priority Track... what is the significant of this?  Does this pretty much guarantee admission/ indicate scholarships or does it just mean that they want me to apply?  Anyone else get it?

I didn't get it.  What were your geographic preferences?  If you don't mind my asking.

As for what it means, your application will receive an expedited review and a decision within (I believe) ten days.  It's a good sign that they like your numbers, but by no means a guarantee of admission.

I'd love to join this LGBT club.  It's the Legos, Gobots, Barbies, and other Toys group, right?  I'll show up with an armful of toys.

Word. I really like Duke, and am flattered to get the PT invite, but I don't really see myself attending. I'd like the early acceptance, but I don't want to take a spot at a school I don't think I'd attend. I'm kind of torn.

Count your blessings.

Apparently it's Duke that doesn't want me.

Just so your misery has company, Wall:  Duke doesn't love me either. ;D  I suspect that my sub-3.75 GPA did me in.  *shrugs*

I got the fee waiver a few minutes back.

There are folks at The Other Forum with better numbers who are 0-2 so far.  It looks pretty arbitrary.
