patent law reqs

I am a soon to be 1L with a health science background. An attorney I know told me that I should look into patent law. I didn't think this would be option for me. What are the requirements for a career in patent law? I have a BS in health science and an MS in physical therapy. Thanks.

For patent litigation there is no requirement other than having a law degree and passing the state bar.  For patent prosecution, i.e. obtaining a patent, you have to be licensed with the USPTO.  The big market in patent prosecution is for Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. I am not sure if health science would attract a lot of interest from potential employers on the prosecution side.
