Good sign or meaningless?

Good sign or meaningless?

I got an email from a firm i am very keen on interviewing with that basically said "thank you for your resume.  We are very impressed with your credentials and want to know what ties you have to the offices you listed."  Does that sound like they will be inviting me down for an interview if they find my ties to the office(s) to be sufficient?  This was a firm i sent a copy of my resume to on my own because they do not interview on campus.  Good sign?

Not a bad sign.  There is always the possibility it is just a generic sort of follow up letter.  I would say that they are actually interest.  Just write something decent concerning the connections, then take it to your career services office and run it by them.  Good luck with the firm!

seconded.  could be good, could be neutral, isn't bad.
