Odds of a T4 to a T1

What are the odds of transfering from a T4 lets say UDM law to a T1 such as Alabama as top 5% in the class

Not bad.  I went from a T4 to a 40's T1.  That's not as highly ranked as Alabama, but my rank was only Top 15%.

from a T3 to a Top20, being Top 13% of the class... so, the odds are not bad at all!!!

I transferred from UDM to Notre Dame. Others in my first year class transferred to Loyola Chicago, University of Michigan, Depaul, SUNY Buffalo, one of the Utah schools.

I can't authoritatively comment on your odds, but I can tell you I'm going from a T4 to a Top 20, and I was Top 2%.

Answer: not good.

Exactly.  The chances are very slim.  Just do your best in school, and don't have the "I need to get all A's so I can transfer out of this school" mindset.  You don't need that stress.  If you so happen to do very well, then fine - then you can start to consider applying to your T1 dream school.  But when you haven't even stepped into your first law school class yet, really, do yourself a favor and just chill out.

In sum: If you aren't comfortable earning your JD at UDM and staying there all 3 years, do not go.
