Just curious what people's thoughts on that are.

I know some folks who did, but none of them went straight; all were ADA's first.  And according to one, all of his classmates at Quantico were over 30; the FBI is quite keen on prior experience.

one of my friends decided to do that. At first I was thinking: what are you doing? But now I see the wisdom in her decision.

I would love to do it, however I have heard its tough spending time with friends and family because you may be gone for months. I'm interested to see if anyone else joined FBI/CIA and what it is really like.

I thought about doing it, then I found out what questions they ask you on the lie detector test you have to take. So I thought to myself do I really want a file in my name with a federal agency saying I failed to answer honestly to questions about my past drug use. No. I値l wait till I知 indicted to lie about that.

Do not forget that for each and every position, (including those of attorneys working for the FBI/CIA) you have to pass the process of "clearance" -- which means more than just not having a criminal record.

The drug questions are on page 4.  You're hooked up to a lie detector while answering these.

The JD is probably their least-needed commodity... if you're serious about federal law enforcement I would get some language skills.  If law enforcement is your PRIMARY goal, get out of law school.  It might help but it's not a stellar qualification.
