Work Experience questions

Hi guys:

I just wanted to know about the effect of work experience in law school admissions. HEre is my situation

LSDAS GPA- 2.62, LSAT 160....I just graduated in May. I am going to retake the LSAT this year. What i am really trying to find out is how much, if at all, will 1-2 years of work experience help mitigate the low GPA. I am a URM (black male). I'm asking this because my advisor said I would have a better shot at top 50ish schools if I brought the LSAT up a little and had work experience between the miserable academic record and law school. Any thoughts?

i think a retaking the LSAT will certainly help you out...and since your GPA is not the best, anything to help will do. I mean if it does not hurt your application, then I would say go for it. Just study as hard as your little heart can take ans retake the darn thing.
