I agree. I'd rather get scanned than be subjected to the getting groped and felt up procedure.
Years ago when I flew home from spending X-mas - news years partying in Amsterdam the return flight connected in DC and I went through customs there. After partying Amsterdam style for a week and a half, plus the 18hour flight into DC airport, when I went through the customs check I guess I pretty much looked like the type of person that would be trying to smuggle a bunch of drugs in from Holland.
When I got to the front of the line and handed the lady my passport she took one look at me and sent me to secondary, which was another room out of sight of everyone else. I got really scared when the inspector dude put on a fresh pair of rubber gloves and asked me 'are you ready for me to start inspecting?' I was expecting something really unpleasant to happen! Luckily he just rummaged through all my luggage and had put on the gloves to do that. I was pretty frigging happy when he let me out of that room unmolested to make my connecting flight!
