So, I was given a disheartening forecast of westward opportunities for a guy with no ties out there.  Stringer, want to claim me as a brother? 

After seeing that 'stache you were rockin' for a while...I don't know if I could legitimately claim you as one of my own

Also, I don't know that Berkeley would care about ties now since the UCs are a hot mess and want money, especially your out of state, higher tuition paying money. Just look at that projected tuition chart for the next 2 years and see if you think it's worth it.

Given the information I have released on these forums over the last few years, it would be very easy for an admissions committee to connect my profile to my application. I'd rather maintain my privacy until after my admissions cycle has run its course.

Heh, this is what gives me pause about transferring anywhere... Keep thinking whether a hop to a higher USNWR rank (or 2 years of better livin') is worth giving up my scholly.  Answer comes back... probably not.

I don't see anything unethical about keeping the fact that he's applied to law school under his hat. There are good reasons why he wouldn't want current employers to know this until he knows where and what he's going to be doing. And as far as adcoms go with regard to content posted here, I totally agree with his decision to limit as much as possible their ability to zero in on his app. How many people have ddubbed even a single post for that very reason?
