I don't think you can take out more of the private education loans more than the CoA though, the ones with the student rate.  But you should still be able to take out private loans that you qualify for

Sometimes if you can prove abnormal expenses, some schools will raise your budget for one semester.  But blue's got it right.

eta: And you're going to need some great credit these days to get a non-student loan to pay for your student living expenses.

On TLS, someone said Wells Fargo has loans that allow people to borrow "student" loans at above the COA. I imagine there's limits on these loans though, possibly higher APRs or tougher credit standards.

yeah i just checked my socres. 1 high 6's and 2 low 7's,. i'm probably only gonna need a few grand, so hopefully they are nice to me. can you defer them till graduation or does payment start sooner?
