According to an article I read, a local LS dean said the number of applicants is down 4.5% nationally.

Not a damn thing cycle-wise.

But, I just finished reading Life of Pi this morning, had a great workout, and just consumed a great veggie 2 course meal I cooked

That veg thing would kill me, man.

We need to do something to your 'tar to change it from the Hamburglar to the URMburglar.

If I can be veggie for a long period of time, anyone can be.  In my culture, every meal is about meat meat meat with some stuff on the side, and I've eaten meat all my life until now basically.  What I like most about it is that it's forced me to expand my horizons and learn to cook different plates, which can only be helpful starting in August.  I think I'll do it for at least 3-4 more months, before I eat meat again.  Undergrad left my body looking and feeling like *&^%, so I had to get healthy again.

Probably a surge in applicants and the schools can be a bit more choosey with who they decide to admit. However, if that is the case, then there will probably be a bigger surge next cycle after people affected by the economy enough to go to grad school, instead of trying to find a job, will be applying after having more time to prepare.

Not applicants, but applications. There are fewer people applying, but they're throwing out more apps per person.

This is my fault.  I applied to an embarassing number of schools. I'm sorry I ruined everyones cycles

I also read that applicants in the Great Lakes region were down 7.5%, which is interesting, since the job market is probably pretty rough in states like Michigan.

Oh, bout the hamburglar, I'm not good with photoshop so making a URMburglar would be challenging for me.  I think the hamburglar is pretty comedy though.

I saw another AA thread on TLS today, I was like....WOWWW.


Edit:  Once my cycle is done, I might put my face on the hamburglar's body and troll AA threads.  Hmmmm.

BTW, it doesn't seem like many schools have been active since the Holidays ended.  I thought there would be some serious decision making by now.  Theories?

what does the number of applications you send in have to do with "ruining the cycle?"

i haven't been looking up too much info on this (mainly because i try to take stuff step by step...)

please enlighten a noob.

I've gotten two acceptances in the past week, Amp. But I can't explain that because I don't understand how I heard back so fast
