I'm in roughly the same boat, --164 and a less than awesome UGPA--, just without the graduate degree and published papers. I wrestled with taking the LSAT a 3rd time (the 164 was a retake from my previous 158) but decided against it. I took a look at the schools that I could get into, some, like my first choice, are admittedly reaches, but I'm fairly confident I'm going to like where I'll end up.

Of course if your heart is set on going to a T14 than by all means retake, but at least look at where you could get into with your score before going through LSAT hell again.
UGPA-3.33 LSAT-164

In- Tulane ($$), Baylor, USD, Santa Clara ($), IU-B ($), Loyola
Out-Minnesota. UIUC
WL-Notre Dame, Hastings
Pending- Emory, WUSTL, W & L, Davis, GULC PT, GMU, GW PT, UC-I (gotta dream, right?)

I'm in the same boat, kind of, but I'm definitely retaking.  My score was much lower than my practice tests though, so unless you expect to do a lot better, I wouldn't retake.  Also, figure out where you want to go and if you need a higher score or not.
