Undergrad Research

Undergrad Research

I was planning on getting a PhD and so I did 3 years of research under 2 different professors.  I also did an independent research project my final semester b/c it was something I've always wanted to do.

I wouldn't call it 'employment' and since I received 1-2 units each semester (nothing compared to the time I put in) it was part of my course load and I think technically not 'extracurricular.'  So where should I put it in my app?  Should I just include it in extracurricular?

Yeah, I would. I was an informal research assistant (informal in that I didn't get paid) for a media law professor as a undergrad, and I included that with my extracurricular activities on my resume.

Extracurricular for voluntary UGrad research...if you were a Graduate student and paid a stipend and were technically an employee of the University, then you should say that in your application under employment.

That is what I am doing.
