Biking to Law School: What panniers should I get?
« on: June 15, 2008, 07:31:37 PM »
Hi,

I'm hoping to bike to school each day, but I'm wondering what panniers would be strong enough to securely carry law school books & a laptop. Do any bikers out there have any recommendations? If so, I'd love to hear.

Thanks,

bicycle bike or motorcycle bike? I've done both. On the motorcycle I use a top box (narrower that way) and on the bicycle I've just been using a bookbag. I have a locker on campus and leave most of my books in it and just carry the laptop and whatever I'm reading home with me. Panniers would make for a slightly more comfortable ride, but more hassle to load and unload. If you've got a sort of long commute or will be taking all your books with you on a regular basis then they would be well worth it. For my 5 minute commute, the book bag works out well.
