Power Rankings / Dynamic Rankings
« on: June 12, 2008, 10:02:57 AM »
Power Rankings

1   Yale University
2   Stanford University
3   Harvard University
4   Columbia University
5   University of California Berkeley
6   University of Chicago
7   University of Pennsylvania
8   University of Michigan Ann Arbor
9   New York University
10   University of Virginia
11   Georgetown University
12   Duke University
13   Northwestern University
14   University of California Los Angeles
15   Cornell University

This came from www.lawschoolpower.com, they also have dynamic power rankings where you can weight different factors.  I was very surprised to see how fast the order of schools would change when I slightly tweaked my inputs.  It sort of demonstrates how flawed US News can be.  I've been a longtime- LSD reader and thought it was a cool find.

Looks interesting, except every dynamic feature is currently returning a page with:

...the Dynamic Rankings use mostly ABA statistics (along with ILRG to fill any gaps).  The Power Rankings and Admissions Calculator use Law School Numbers.  I'm interested to see what people think of the Dynamic Rankings - useful? accurate?

The whole point of this website (besides supplying free data) is to undermine US News and World Reports and cater the admissions process to the individual.  Additionally, the "Power Rankings" look at actual student quality, they don't just add up admissions rates and LSAT scores.

I'd love to see how you have chosen to weight the factors in your dynamic rankings!!

The same thing is happening to me.  Maybe it doesn't like me because I'm going to a T2

On my first try I somehow figured out how to get BC & BU tied at #17 with UCLA in the top 10.  ???

I know it's not fair, but I'm reminded strongly of Cooley...

Well he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog... Well, replace the word "kinda" with "repeatedly" and the word "dog" with "son."

If only you could weight minority enrollment, library square footage, and requirement of a BA/BS before enrollment...
