A Phone Call

A Phone Call
« on: June 11, 2008, 08:06:23 AM »
Hello all,
I'm on a waitlist for a school, and they called me yesterday.  I didn't get to my phone, and when I called back she was in a meeting.  Although I fully intend on going somewhere else, I'm still curious - would a LS call to reject you? Opine away!

A phone call can only be good news at this point!! They're so busy they definitely don't have time to be calling people to reject them off waitlists.

No, if you were rejected, you would get the cold shoulder.

Update: I've called her back twice and I've yet to hear. Maybe its a one-shot phone call and then that's your only chance.  If it is I'm going to have to laugh/cry/killself cause I screened the call cause I didn't recognize the number and I knew it wasn't my LS calling.

Maybe it was a call to see if you're still interested. I got a call from a school asking if I was still interested in attending. I just said, 'Absolutely!' and got in via email the next week with money.

Yes. Remember, you're playing hardball. They have to pay for making you wait. Your time is a commodity. Let them know that. Demand your scholarship be priced in Euros.

Absolutely, the dollar is worth poo these days. There I go again with the absolutely. I'm a naturally enthusiastic person, I guess.

Got an email yesterday - I'm in.  Formal acceptance coming next week. 90% sure I won't go

And I agree on dollar being poo. @#!* the euro - I want my scholarship in sterling pounds.
