Pleasure Reading and Pre-1L Book Suggestions

I've run out of TV shows to Netflix, and need some books to kill 3 months before I start school. I'm open to any fiction genre for pleasure reading, but something that helped with your transition to law school would be great too. Basically if you liked it enough to consider replying, I would be interested in hearing about it.

That really doesn't help as much as you'd hoped.

I enjoyed OneL by Scott Turow.  Its a bit like the Paper Chase but it was a fun read.  Another, good one?  Froot Loops: the Story of a misguided Nor-caler who couldn't even figure out the best cereal to eat let alone a decent sports team to root for.  You'll find it in the tragedy section.

I've only read PLS of this group, so I'm in no position to say what's good and what isn't.

I'm going to second (third?) One L.  I think it is a fun read as long as you don't take it too seriously. 

I've read all of the rest mentioned, too.  I liked Planet Law School a little more than Law School Confidential, although I took bits and pieces from both.  I'm reading a little Grisham right now.  I think lawyer dramas are fun.

I just bought "Getting to Maybe" and have really been enjoying it.  It's well-written, and although I haven't had the pleasure of doing the 1L exams yet, the advice seems sound.

Buffalo Creek Disaster was excellent.  I'm currently reading LSC and I'm slightly more impressed than I thought I'd be.  If you are going to read Grisham, stick with the Street Lawyer/King of Torts/The Chamber/A Time to Kill type Grishams, and avoid The Firm/The Pelican Brief/The Broker types (which are all THE EXACT SAME NOVEL with different character names, IMO).

If you're into SciFi at all (and really, even if you're not) read Dune by Frank Herbert.
